Letter from Silverstein

Dear Everyone, Thank you for participating in Silverstein Clarinet Contest 2021.

I would like to talk about Rainforest today.

Many of us concerned about diminishing rainforest in Brazil and Indonesia. Because the rainforest provides us Oxygen.

I believe Music is as important as Oxygen.

The famous Greek Philosopher Plato/ Platon, said;
“Music gives a soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination and life to everything.”
However, Like the rainforest, we have concerns if classical music is diminishing in this Digital Age.

So, 3 years ago, with many of Silverstein artists, we began Online Clarinet Contest to provide World class unrestricted free opportunity to young clarinetists.
Our goal was to search for unknown rainforest of Clarinet music and preserve and protect.

During last 3 years, we found many healthy musical rainforest from various countries. This year, we found them from Serbia, Poland, Portugal, Spain, Ukraine, Germany and Belarus among others. These are so precious asset which will keep providing us Music that is as important as Oxygen to this world.

I would like to thank to all parents, teachers and professors who planted and fostered these young clarinetists. You should be very proud. I hope you know what you are doing is extremely important like preserving rainforest in Brazil, and even more so.

Thank you to all contestants of SCC2021. Your music is very important Like Oxygen to this world. I really hope you know it. Because you are making this world a beautiful place to live, all of you are big winners of today! Congratulations and Thank you!

I would like to sincerely appreciate to all of our judges. As you see, all of our 88 judges are World renowned clarinetists with very busy schedule. They shared valuable and precious time and effort for this events without any compensation.
This event would never be possible without our judges devotions and dedication. Thank you again!

Having all said, I hope all of you have enjoyed this year contest and the live awards ceremony.
We will work hard to make an even better contest next year.
