Valeria Serangeli

Principal clarinet of Carlo Felice Opera House Orchestra in Genoa (Italy) since she was 26, Valeria studied at Conservatorio “O.Respighi” in Latina and Conservatorio “N.Paganini” in Genoa.
She also attended Accademia Internazionale “L.Perosi” in Biella with Antony Pay and Accademia del Teatro alla Scala in Milano with Denis Zanchetta, specializing on Eb clarinet.
Winner of several clarinet competitions and fellowships (Bruno-Frey Stiftung- Ochsenhausen – Germany), Valeria collaborated with major orchestras as both Principal and Eb clarinet:
Teatro alla Scala, Filarmonica della Scala, Teatro dell’ Opera di Roma and Lorin Maazel’s “Filarmonica Toscanini”, playing in the most important concert halls worldwide.
Regularly invited by Maestro Daniel Oren to play with Teatro Giuseppe Verdi Orchestra in Salerno, she appeared in the 2011 Christmas Concert that took place in the Senate of the Italian Republic. The concert was broadcasted throughout Europe.
As a soloist, she played Aaron Copland Clarinet Concerto at Teatro Comunale di Vicenza and Teatro Carlo Felice di Genova conducted by Giampaolo Bisanti.
As a teacher, she held several international Masterclasses in italian and european Conservatories and Festivals (Vicenza, Taranto, Luxemburg-Masterclass in Italy, Festival Federico Cesi Summer College).
She also holds an annual class in Rome (Civica Scuola delle Arti).
Valeria is regularly invited at Festival Internazionale “Il Mondo del Clarinetto” since it’s sixth edition and took part at ClarinetFest 2013 in Assisi.
